GTAccess has acquired powered access rental company Extreme Hire in a deal that will see them strengthening their presence in the South East.
Extreme Hire is run by powered access veteran Stuart Bond and is based in the South East, with its head office in Hailsham, East Sussex with depots in Shepperton, Middlesex and Meriden, Nr Coventry. Extreme Hire runs a fleet of approximately 200 Powered Access Platforms and Telehandlers and employs 25 people across the organisation.
Jonathan Till, Managing Director at GTAccess commented “This acquisition will strengthen our powered access offering and will help us to continue our ambitious growth strategy.
Extreme Hire customers will be unaffected by the change with current Managing Director Stuart Bond continuing to run the two Southern depots. Stuart Bond, Managing Director of Extreme Hire said “This is a great deal for Extreme Hire customers as it will give them access to GTAccess’s depots and training centres and a combined modern and versatile powered access hire fleet of over 2,000 machines. I’m really looking forward to continuing to provide a first class service to all our customers.”
As well as the additional depot locations the deal also brings new capability to GTAccess with the addition of truck mounted booms with working heights up to 48 metres and a range of Telehandlers, something that we currently don’t run. Tom Long, General Manager at GTAccess Commented “We already deliver powered access platforms down to the south coast and in to London but the addition of Extreme Hires locations will expand our capability even further and make it easier for us to continue meeting our customers high expectations.”
The synergies of the two companies make this acquisition a perfect fit. We both run similar types of machines, we’re both members of the Access Alliance and as such follow similar working practices – together the future looks bright.
